|
|
UCSH is an easy-to-use scripting helper for classic animated desktop characters. It lets you load characters, preview animations, write speech, play scripts, and build presentations using both Microsoft Agent and Microsoft Actor characters.
Some uses for these captivating technologies include talking websites, interactive presentations, video content, tutorials, tour guides, clipboard and text file readers, and just plain fun.
- Experiment with character animations, speech, movement, gestures, word balloons, character sizes, idle animations, and sound effects.
- Create and edit UCSH/ATS-style scripts for Microsoft Agent and Microsoft Actor characters, as well as open and edit existing .ATS and many basic .MSH scripts.
- Use built-in tools for character properties, animation previews, TTS voices, speech tags, sound effects, WAV speech, singing, downloads, modules, backgrounds, and script playback.
- Add presentation-style features such as screen effects, tint effects, fade transitions, backgrounds, delayed playback, global stop, and Show and Tell character demonstrations.
- Use the welcome window, guide window, startup options, character folders, refreshed character lists, and the built-in tour to get started more easily.
- Recover work automatically with script backup and auto-recovery support, and use script repair to fix many common script errors.

conversational interfaces for applications and Web pages. It provides powerful

It used text to speech engines to allow the animated characters to speak to the end user. These animated characters were called "Microsoft Agents". It came preinstalled with Windows beginning with Windows 2000, though it was first incorporated into a build of Windows with Windows 98 build 1569. Microsoft Agent continued to release alongside all Windows versions until Windows 7 in 2009, following Microsoft's discontinuation of Microsoft Agent.
